2 Years Natural 🎉🎉

Today is March 15, 2017…

It is has been 2 years since I did the big chop. I personally has grown a lot from this experience and my hair have definitely grown.

I’m no longer a “product junkie”. I have found products that I tend to stick with and that seem to work for me. The line that I use is Taliah Waajid. Her product maybe considered a little pricey but a little product goes a long way.

I’ve also learned to accept the fact that everyone hair is different. You have to learn your hair. I still have a few issues when I try new hairstyle, but I normally can pull something off. Hair pins should be your best friend- and gel. I’m currently struggling to learn how to flat twist. Well- I haven’t put that much effort in trying to learn but once I do learn, I’ll have more looks.

I’m going to post some pictures from my journey. From March 15,2015 until now. I hope you enjoy!

One year hair-aversary

Well yesterday I hit the one year mark. One year post relaxer and 4 months post the BIG CHOP. I love the journey so far. Although my styles rarely come out like YouTube I still like the process of seeing what work with my hair and what doesn’t. I even went out to a party wearing my natural hair out. I was real close to just getting braids but I didn’t. In fact I’m still wearing that same style today and it’s been over 2 weeks. That’s the longest ever. I had it done 7/10 and today is 7/27. WOW!!

My hair-versary is from 7/26/14 – 7/26/15 WhoopWhoop!!

Of course here is some pictures…

Selfies

I LOVE SELFIES! If the hair is laid the right way; or if the colors are cute… Better believe that a selfie will be taken. Not only that… there are 5 days left for my hair-versary. June 26, 2014 was my last relaxer. So I’m super excited about that. I’m quite sure there will be plenty of pictures to come. But here are a few SELFIES!!

Update

Well it’s been almost a month since I last posted and almost a year since I’ve went NATURAL!! So here it is…I’ve went from relaxer>> to transitioning>> to the Big Chop>> to TWA. I’ve been through extremely dry hair to being a product and YouTube junkie. This has been an interesting journey thus far. I’m enjoying every bit of it. So here is a few pictures of then and now.

Hair grease….

So as I’ve mentioned before… I’m a product junkie. Well I’m glad to say that it was a short lived phase. I decided to use the things that I had previously purchased before buying more. Then, one day, a church member of mine (hair crush) said that she only uses hair grease and water. So I thought about it. Hair grease was the ONLY thing that worked on my daughter head before she became dreaded. And that’s what my mom used for me before I was chemically processed. So I looked under the sink and found an old jar of Blue Magic hair grease. Needless to say that I only use a little bit but I always get really defined curls and my hair isn’t dry. I do use coconut oil about every 2-3 days and I use the grease and Eco styling gel on wash days. But my hair is soft. Tangled free and curled.

Now I know there are those that says hair grease isn’t “natural”. However, it isn’t a chemical either. As I’m still on a trial and error basis…I like it.

I do have pictures to post and I’ll post them soon.
